Hi there!

We live in HK and will be coming to BKK during December and I'm keen to know when the Royal Barge procession is - is it every year on December 5th? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I'm not entirely convinced the processions are an annual event. There was one this year on 5th November to celebrate the King's 80th birthday. The previous one was 12th June, 2006 to celebrate his Diamond Jubilee and before that there was one on 20th October, 2003 for the Opec summit. I can ask and come back here with some more definite info.

I would say these are very popular and you need to book with a restaurant or organization that has seating. Just turning up on the day won't get you much of a view.

Oops sorry, busy year. No there wasn't one in 2008. No word about 2009 but I am not aware of any plans.
