Is Sukhumvit, Soi 8 a good place for families with toddlers to live in?

Soi 8 is a busy road containing a good many pubs, restaurants, massage parlours, and a lot of traffic. It is very convenient for the skytrain and there will be no problem finding taxis etc. Personally though I do not view it as toddler territory due to the rather adult nature of many of the businesses. Soi 12 is probably a better bet with a small handful of restaurants, some good apartment complexes and less traffic.
